The professional gong mallet L355 is the largest in the series. Developed to let your gong or large Singing Bowls fully blossom. Despite its light weight, it produces a beautiful deep and warm sound on gongs and Singing Bowls. The handle is slightly thicker at the end so that the mallet sits better in the hand.
The ollihess™ mallets are made in Germany. We have worked to achieve great effect with low weights and smaller mallet heads.
At strike the Singing Bowls , the sound is decisively influenced by the type and degree of hardness of the mallet. Different mallets can be used to elicit different pitches from the Singing Bowl .
- Large, soft felt mallets tend to produce deeper tones that are good for the abdomen.
- Medium, harder felt mallets, for example, are more suitable for frequencies in the abdomen (solar plexus).
- Small, hard mallets tend to elicit higher tones from the Singing Bowl that appeal to the heart and head area.
