The main thing is cheap? That has never been our motto! In addition to the durability of our products, we have been working to save as many resources as possible since the very beginning. But doing without plastic is also a matter close to our hearts. For a sustainable strategy, it is not enough for us to "just" use fewer resources. We therefore attach great importance to ensuring that sustainability is considered and anchored in every action we take as a company.
Here you will find a number of things that we are already implementing today.
Products
Our products are designed to give pleasure for a long time and, with good care, can be used for years. Our Singing Bowls in particular are used for decades and naturally last for generations!
- We try to use sustainable, natural and renewable raw materials for our products.
- We are also expanding our range to include vegan products and are still on the lookout for alternative, vegan variants.
Packaging
Online retail generates a lot of packaging material. We have therefore given this particular area a lot of thought and are still looking for ecological alternatives and ways to reduce it. Ideas implemented so far:
- Most of the packaging material is reused or recycled, e.g. we use cushions made from shredded old cardboard boxes that could not be reused as a whole.
- We use as little plastic as possible for shipping. We continue to use the plastic bags that we need for transportation from production so that the goods are protected from salt water and corrosion during transport by sea.
- In our shipping department, we use paper tape instead of plastic tape as well as paper padding and starch packaging flakes in addition to our recycled and reused materials.
Printed matter
A company of our size has to produce printed materials, whether it's business cards for trade fairs or the catalog, which has become a constant companion for many of our customers. We have therefore thought about how we can save resources and print in a climate-friendly and ecological way and have so far been able to make the following changes:
- We are gradually switching to digital media. Many of our customers and we continue to appreciate high-quality materials and are therefore not completely dispensing with the printing of our catalog, but only send it out on request. You can browse through and download our current catalog online on our homepage.
- Whenever possible, we have our printed matter printed in a climate-neutral way - as often as possible on recycled paper.
Social responsibility
Many of our products such as Singing Bowls and gongs are manufactured in the countries of origin Nepal, India and China. We pay great attention to good working conditions during production, and it is important to us that
- a fair salary is paid
- no children work in the relevant workshops
- and we support the craftsmen financially in the event of illness and weddings.
Otherwise, "Made in Germany" is right at the top of our list. As far as possible, we have many mallets and other accessories manufactured in Germany.
We believe in the long term ...
and therefore attach great importance to a good working atmosphere. On average, our employees have been with us for around 9 years, with more than a third of our employees having been with us for over 17 years.
A caring and respectful approach to our employees and external partners is very important to us. We organize joint activities such as summer parties and Christmas celebrations every year.
Donations
We support the association Opportunities: Education in Nepal e.V. with financial donations. The purpose of the association is the promotion of charitable purposes in Nepal as well as the promotion of local development cooperation with a focus on education and the promotion of youth welfare. The main aim is to provide underprivileged children with free education, accommodation, food and adequate health care.
Office
We also save resources directly in our offices and want to protect the environment.
- We use green electricity.
- To avoid waste, we use refill canisters for soap and disinfectant. Soap, disinfectant and cleaning agents are - as far as possible - made from natural, biodegradable ingredients.
